Travel = Love for Valentine’s Day

The gift of travel is always a good idea for the travel lover in your life. Why not wow your valentine this year and gift them with time? Time to be together alone connecting, relaxing, and romancing.

Even though you might not be able to travel right away, you can certainly present the gift on Valentine’s Day.

A recent survey by Princess Cruises found that 26 percent of adults said that a vacation is their ideal Valentine’s Day, ranking twice as popular as receiving flowers (13 percent).

Where in the world can you find romance?

Costa Rica has an amazing adults-only option in Nayara Springs. It’s very private and the rooms are set up like villas, while the outdoor space, snuggled by the rainforest of the Arenal Volcano National Park, is truly special. Each villa has a large patio with a day bed, hammock, and its own private hot springs plunge pool. All of the patios are surrounded by over 1,000 flowers (bathing suits optional).

Scotland and Ireland both softly sing romance. Lush rolling green hills will remind you of famous love stories from the movies ‘Braveheart’ and ‘Highlander.’ Stroll through old castles, ancient churches, and beautiful gardens.

Accessed only by boat, the secluded, car-free private-island hideaway of Jumby Bay, two miles off the coast of Antigua, offers the quintessential Caribbean experience. The standout for romance is the spa, set close to the beach and open to the elements, with five treatment rooms that open onto private terraces. The resort is good for creative little extras: to help you enjoy the astonishing night sky, staff will pack a picnic dinner and send you off to star-gaze on Pasture Beach.

Simply spend time together regardless of the destination, what makes a vacation romantic is the time you spend together.

Here are some other romantic destinations to consider:

Santorini, Greece – the island with the best views and sunsets
Tulum, Mexico – couples seeking bohemian barefoot luxury
Buenos Aires, Argentina – tango and big, full-bodied wines
Botswana, Africa – silence and seclusion
